Former Pro Bowl cornerback Jaire Alexander has found a new home.

Alexander has signed with the Baltimore Ravens, the team announced on Wednesday.

The Ravens shared a photo of Alexander signing his new contract and captioned it “got him.”

The caption was an obvious reference to some comments that were made by Lamar Jackson earlier in the week. Jackson and Alexander both had successful collegiate careers at Louisville, where they played together from 2015-2017. Jackson was asked about Alexander on Tuesday, and he responded by enthusiastically telling Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta to go sign the star cornerback.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Alexander’s deal is worth $6 million for one season. That is less than other teams offered, but the veteran wanted to play with his former college teammate.

Alexander spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Green Bay Packers before being released earlier this month. The 28-year-old has been one of the best defensive backs in the NFL when healthy, but injuries have been an issue for him recently. Alexander played in just seven games in each of the last two seasons.

Alexander made the Pro Bowl in 2020 and 2022, which shows what he is capable of when not held back by injuries. You can understand why Jackson was so enthusiastic about the Ravens signing his former teammate, and the front office agreed.
