Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Jakobi Meyers sought to force a trade before the start of the season. He has kept his head down since then, but that does not mean his stance has changed.

Meyers admitted Tuesday that he still wants the Raiders to trade him, though he has “no control over that” if it does not happen.

“Oh, for sure,” Meyers said when asked if he still wanted a trade. “But I’m a professional at the end of the day. I’m just trying to play good football.”

Does he still desire to be traded?

Meyers is in the final year of his contract, and originally requested the trade when the two sides failed to come to an agreement on a new deal. When nothing got done by the start of the regular season, Meyers essentially said the Raiders rejected his request, then put his head down and got back to business.

The Raiders have been poor this season, and Meyers is one of several high-profile players to have a slightly down season. Still, he has 29 catches for 329 yards, though he has yet to find the end zone. Last season was his best, as he posted 1,027 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

At 2-5, the Raiders are going nowhere in 2025. That may be enough to get them to reassess whether a Meyers trade might be in their best interest.
