Jalen Hurts addresses his heated moment with OC Kevin Patullo

Jalen Hurts has an animated discussion with Eagles OC Kevin Patullo

Jalen Hurts looked like he was frustrated with Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Kevin Patullo during Sunday’s win over the Los Angeles Rams, and the quarterback was asked about the exchange after the game.

Hurts had an animated conversation with Patullo on the sideline late in the third quarter of the Eagles’ 33-26 Week 3 win over the Rams at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa. The Eagles had just scored a touchdown to cut L.A.’s lead to 26-21.

Following his 9-yard touchdown pass to A.J. Brown, Hurts was shown on the sideline having an animated conversation with Patullo.

A reporter later asked Hurts about the moment, which appeared at least somewhat heated. Hurts had a noteworthy response.

“It was a complete team effort. … If it meant getting out of character (in a) given a situation, it’s about doing it. Only thing we ever care about is finding a way to win the game,” Hurts said.

Hurts could have easily denied that he was frustrated with Patullo, so his cryptic response was telling.

It would hardly be a surprise if Hurts was aggravated with the playcalling from Patullo. Hurts had thrown for just 253 yards combined with no touchdown passes through Philadelphia’s first two games of the season. Even Brown had taken a swipe at his own team over the lack of production.

The Eagles’ pass offense was practically nonexistent again in the first half on Sunday, but they got things going in the second half. Hurts finished 21/32 for 226 yards and 3 touchdowns. Maybe Patullo needed a little pep talk from the Pro Bowl quarterback.
