Jalen Ramsey doesn’t back down from criticism of Matt Ryan, other QBs

Jalen Ramsey

Jalen Ramsey has provided more than a handful of NFL quarterbacks with bulletin board material if and when they face him, but the Jacksonville Jaguars star does not regret the way he made headlines in an interview earlier this month.

After the Jaguars held the Atlanta Falcons to just six points in a preseason win on Saturday, Ramsey stood by the controversial remarks he made to GQ.

“I don’t live my life with regrets,” he said, per John Reid of the Florida Times-Union. “Things happen, and I said what I said. God knows I love everything about the game of football.”

Matt Ryan was one of the quarterbacks that Ramsey did not speak highly of, as he claimed to have forgotten Ryan’s name before calling him “overrated.” The Jaguars sacked Ryan three times on Saturday and held him to just 57 yards passing, so the former NFL MVP didn’t seize the opportunity to prove Ramsey wrong in an exhibition game. When asked if his opinion of Ryan has changed, Ramsey only said Jacksonville’s defense played well but that they have “some things to correct.”

We have already seen some quarterbacks have strong responses to Ramsey, but it’s no surprise the Pro Bowler is expressing no regrets. He’s confident in his game, and that confidence has already made him one of the best defensive backs in the NFL.
