Jalen Ramsey never passes up an opportunity to knock an opponent down a peg or two, which makes it that much more noteworthy when he praises a rival the way he did Demaryius Thomas this week.
During an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Ramsey was discussing some of the moves that were made at the trade deadline and how they might impact the Jacksonville Jaguars. The star cornerback said he wishes the Houston Texans had not acquired Thomas from the Denver Broncos, and he means that as a compliment.
“Man, I do not like that for us,” Ramsey said. “Our rivals just got another weapon, for sure. Him added with (DeAndre Hopkins), who’s already dangerous, and then with Deshaun (Watson), who’s a play-maker in every sense of the word — they definitely just got better.”
Thomas is 30 and has not been very productive over the past two seasons, but a lot of that has had to do with the quarterback situation in Denver. Now that he has a chance to be a No. 2 receiver in a passing attack led by Watson, he should see more opportunities to make plays.
Remember, this is the same Jalen Ramsey who had a shot fired at him by a Texans player not too long ago. He must think very highly of Thomas and his new teammates.
