Jamaal Charles agrees to one-year deal with Broncos

Jamaal Charles Discount Double Check

Jamaal Charles will be remaining in the AFC West.

Charles went to Denver for a visit on Tuesday and it went well enough that the two sides agreed to a deal.

NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says the contract will be for one year at $3.75 million, which isn’t at all bad for a guy with Charles’ injury history.

Charles has only played in eight games over the past two seasons due to injuries, but he established himself as the Chiefs’ leading rusher in franchise history in the years before.

Charles will compete with C.J. Anderson and Devontae Booker for carries in the Broncos’ offense.

One interesting note is that Charles’ deal is for around the same amount Adrian Peterson got from the Saints. Peterson is getting $3.5 million guaranteed this season, though he can make up to $8.25 million depending on his 2018 option and contract incentives.
