Report: Jamaal Charles unlikely to join Saints after workout
The New Orleans Saints hosted Jamaal Charles for what seems to have been a productive workout, but the two sides won’t be joining forces.
According to Herbie Teope of NFL.com, Charles had a “very good” workout with the Saints and passed his physical, but both sides decided that, at least for now, it wasn’t a good fit, with the team opting instead to sign veteran Terrance West.
On Jamaal Charles: According to a source, Charles had a "very good workout and visit" with the Saints and passed his physical, but at the moment a signing didn't make sense for either side. This could be revisited at a later time, I'm told.

Charles spent 2017 with the Denver Broncos, where a lot of optimism gave way to a season in which he played 14 games as a backup and only got 69 carries. Now 31 with a history of knee injuries, he’s having a rough time finding a job.
