Many have been wondering the extent of Jason Pierre-Paul’s hand injury following a fireworks mishap on July 4th weekend, including most notably the New York Giants.
The word is that Pierre-Paul had his right index finger amputated. While we do not know exactly what his hand looks like, the New York Daily News did snap and publish some photos of the Giants defensive lineman:

His hand looks like a huge club with all the bandaging around it. There also seems to be something noticeable missing on his right hand where the index finger would be.
The entire situation led to one of the most truly surreal quotes we have seen.
“We don’t know how extensive the damage is. That’s the problem,” Giants owner John Mara said Thursday. “I don’t know how many fingers he has.”
We think JPP now has four fingers on his right hand. Oh yeah, he also reportedly has a broken right thumb, which would help explain the cast, too.
