Jay Gruden says Redskins don’t have a QB plan for game against Patriots
The Washington Redskins are preparing to face one of the best defenses in the NFL when they take on the New England Patriots this Sunday, but they apparently still do not know which of their three quarterbacks will be the first on the field.
Washington head coach Jay Gruden was asked on Wednesday about his team’s plan at the quarterback position, and he simply said they don’t have one. He said he may not choose a starter between Case Keenum, Dwayne Haskins and Colt McCoy until just before kickoff.
Jay Gruden says the Redskins don’t currently have a plan at QB. Says he might wait until Sunday at 1 pm. He might have been joking.

We can’t imagine Gruden was being entirely truthful, as it would be almost impossible to properly prepare for an opponent without knowing who your starting quarterback is going to be. However, we can’t rule anything out with the 0-4 Redskins. Gruden sounds as frustrated as anyone with the rough start, and he indicated he does not think even Tom Brady would be succeeding in Washington right now given the circumstances.
I asked Jay Gruden about how he would prepare Dwayne Haskins for the Patriots' disguise presnap, and he went off about how it starts with protecting the quarterback.
"If we don't have good protection and we can't get separation, Tom Brady wouldn't have any success here."

Keenum was benched early in Sunday’s loss to the New York Giants after he threw an interception, and Haskins threw three picks of his own after that. McCoy is apparently fully recovered from his leg injury, and he may be Gruden’s preferred option.
Regardless of who starts, Gruden almost sounds like he knows his team has no chance to win. That type of attitude could get him fired in the very near future.
