Trent Williams has yet to report to the Washington Redskins amid a dispute over his contract and the way the team’s medical staff handled his recent health scare, but it does not sound like his trade request is going to be accommodated.
Jay Gruden said earlier in the offseason that he does not envision Williams being traded, and the Redskins coach reiterated that on Monday.
Redskibs coach Jay Gruden said he still "seriously doubts" they trade tackle Trent Williams. "Very strongly," Gruden said when asked if he still feels that way. https://t.co/lWBQKmpBfC

Williams has had several surgeries and had a mass removed from his head during the offseason that doctors initially thought might be malignant. Fortunately, it was not. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, the 31-year-old is now healthy and ready to play.
#Redskins coach Jay Gruden reiterates that he still "very strongly” believes LT Trent Williams won’t be traded. The team has privately resisted all inquiries. Note: I’m told Williams, who has had several surgeries, is now healthy and ready to play. For someone.

While he has not spoken publicly about it, Williams is said to be at odds with Washington’s medical staff over the way his health scare was handled. The seven-time Pro Bowler wants to be traded, but the Redskins are reportedly turning away all offers. Williams is scheduled to make nearly $11 million this season and $12.5 million next year, and it’s possible he could continue his holdout beyond Week 1.
