Jerry Jones shoots down Orlando Scandrick trade rumor
The Dallas Cowboys used both their second- and third-round picks on cornerbacks in the NFL Draft Friday night, which has led to rumblings that Orlando Scandrick could be on the trading block.
After the Cowboys selected Colorado’s Chidobe Awuzie with the 60th overall pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that the Cowboys were trying to trade Scandrick for a third-round pick.
Sources: The #Cowboys are shopping veteran CB Orlando Scandrick. As the third-round is set to begin… that would be the price.

That was before Dallas picked former Michigan star Jourdan Lewis, also a defensive back, at No. 92. Despite the obvious emphasis on adding depth to the secondary, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones emphatically shot down the report about Scandrick potentially being moved.
Jerry Jones says the Cowboys are "absolutely not" looking to move Orlando Scandrick. "That's completely erroneous."

Scandrick turned 30 in February. Dallas signed fellow veteran cornerback Nolan Carroll this offseason, and he also recently turned 30. Even if Scandrick is not being shopped, the Cowboys obviously need to get younger at the position.
