Jim Harbaugh has unusual way of protecting Justin Herbert from injuries
Los Angeles Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh is known for his idiosyncrasies. His latest one, seemingly designed to keep Justin Herbert healthy, is certainly one of the more unique ones he has come up with.
Chargers edge rusher Joey Bosa shared a pretty hilarious Harbaugh story on Wednesday. According to Bosa, Harbaugh has instructed Herbert not to high five anyone in order to protect the quarterback’s hands.
Chargers EDGE Joey Bosa says HC Jim Harbaugh told Justin Herbert "no more high fives" coming off of the field to protect his hands.

It’s pretty unlikely anyone is going to actually hurt Herbert by giving him a high five. That said, the quarterback is the Chargers’ most important investment, and Harbaugh absolutely loves him. Better safe than sorry, perhaps.
Herbert dealt with a foot injury during preseason and popped up on Wednesday’s injury report with an ankle issue. At least nobody can blame high fives for either of those issues.
