Confused Joe McKnight wanted to take it outside with reporter
New York Jets running back Joe McKnight was so irritated with the media on Monday that he wanted to confront a Twitter user who he incorrectly thought was a reporter.
McKnight was concussed at practice recently and was arrested in New Jersey last week for outstanding warrants after being pulled over for speeding and changing lanes without signaling. The former USC back returned to practice on Sunday, but it sounds like he’s still in bad shape. New York Daily News Jets reporter Manish Mehta says McKnight struggled to make it onto the practice field Monday, stopping three times and even getting down on a knee on his way to the field. He then went down on a 1-on-1 pass-catching drill.
Things got weird when McKnight began tweeting from the training room.
McKnight complained that it had “gone too far” with reporters.
Now I'm trying to keep my cool but now it has gone too far with these reporters. Just let y'all know I'm not the one. I know who you are

Now I'm getting into that

Then, after tweeting “I don’t care anymore,” a fan told him “about time you got released.”
I don't care anymore

@bleedgreenjetz are you outside

McKnight apparently thought that Twitter user was a media member and responded “are you outside,” but the person just happened to be a fan.
McKnight seemed to still be upset with the media for asking him on Sunday about his arrest. That’s what he didn’t want to get into with them.
Look, I don’t know what’s going on with McKnight, but it sure sounds to me like he’s having some mental problems. These bizarre tweets are coming less than two weeks after he seemed to suffer a concussion during practice, which the Jets still have not acknowledged. They should be trying to take care of him more considering he doesn’t seem to be all there mentally.
