A number of teams are expected to show interest in Sammy Watkins when free agency begins next week, but one player is already making the most enthusiastic pitch to the star wide receiver.
When the Los Angeles Rams chose not to use the franchise tag on Watkins earlier in the week, Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon immediately went into recruiting mode. And for what it’s worth, Watkins gave an acknowledgement.

The Rams are still interested in bringing Watkins back, but you have to wonder how motivated he is to return to L.A. after some of the things he tweeted during the 2017 season. Either way, the 24-year-old is expected to draw plenty of interest on the free agent market. We’ll see if the Bengals’ front office agrees with their star running back.
