
After a lot of talk about the Denver Broncos potentially selecting a developmental quarterback, either in the first round or later on, nothing came of it during the NFL Draft.
The Broncos went the entire draft without selecting a quarterback, and general manager John Elway confirmed that Denver wouldn’t be adding anyone after the draft either, ensuring a battle between Paxton Lynch and Chad Kelly to be Case Keenum’s backup.

Ultimately, one Broncos player outlined why drafting a quarterback in the first round was probably never in Elway’s plans. It is a bit more surprising that they didn’t use a late-round selection on a potential project, but Elway apparently isn’t ready to give up hope on Lynch just yet.
