John Ross sets record with 4.22 40-yard dash time at combine
Former Washington wide receiver John Ross said he was aiming for the NFL Combine 40-yard dash record, and he made good on that.
Ross ran a 4.22 40 time on Saturday in Indianapolis, which beats Chris Johnson’s record 4.24 time at the combine.

On Friday, Ross said he was going for the record.
“I’m going to try,’’ said Ross, via the Seattle Times. “I don’t want to say too much, (that) I’m just everything. But I’m definitely going to try. I’m definitely going to go for it.”
Ross delivered.
Johnson must have been watching or heard about it, because he tweeted this:

Adidas had been advertising a promotion that anyone who broke the 40-yard dash time at the combine would win an island from them, but Ross was wearing Nike shoes and is ineligible for it.
John Ross was wearing Nike on that first run, if anyone cares. pic.twitter.com/O3OggAUOTG
