Rams punter Johnny Hekker has high praise for John Fassel
Los Angeles Rams special teams coordinator John Fassel has been named the team’s interim head coach for the remaining three games of the season, and one player who has worked closely with him believes he is the perfect man for the job.
Rams punter Johnny Hekker, who is not surprisingly the best in the NFL at his craft, tweeted some very high praise for Fassel on Monday.
Coach Fisher will be missed incredibly. That being said, the best coach I've ever been around just got the keys today. #FinishStrong

Hekker leads the NFL with an average of 47.6 yards per punt, and he obviously gets plenty of opportunities. It’s understandable that he has such a high opinion of Fassel, as Hekker has obviously enjoyed great success under the coach.
Although Fisher was a massive failure during his time in St. Louis and L.A., the players have not bashed him. There are rumblings that Fisher’s spat with a Rams legend contributed to the decision to fire him, but there have been no strong indications that he lost his locker room.
