Johnny Manziel reportedly fined for being late for injury treatment
Johnny Manziel is out for the remainder of the season with a hamstring injury, but that isn’t stopping him from screwing up.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Manziel has been fined by the Cleveland Browns for showing up late to receive treatment for his injury. As a player who is on injured reserved, Manziel did not have to participate in the Browns walk-through practice. Showing up on time for treatment was his only responsibility.
Is showing up late for treatment really a big deal? If it wasn’t, do you think the Browns would have bothered fining Manziel?
Manziel recently made some interesting comments about his work ethic this season, and he has been fairly honest with reporters in the wake of his atrocious starting debut. But we all know that saying and doing are two different things. Manziel can admit he needs to work harder, but it’s more than that. He needs to fulfill all of his responsibilities to the team — even when he’s injured.
