Jordan Addison sparks speculation with cryptic social media post
Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison sent a cryptic message on social media Saturday that appeared to signal some frustration with his role in the team’s offense.
Addison shared a photo of himself on his Instagram story Saturday. More notable, however, was the caption he used, which simply read “Free 3.”

Addison wears No. 3 for the Vikings, so it certainly reads like he is not happy with the team. In this context, he could simply be pushing for a larger role in the offense, or he might be going a step further and wants to be “freed” to a new team.
Though he is certainly not the No. 1 option in the offense, Addison has decent numbers on the season, though his production has not been totally consistent. He has 14 catches for 231 yards and a touchdown, but only saw three targets in Thursday’s loss to the Rams. He wound up with only two catches for 22 yards, and he has yet to catch more than three passes in a game this season. He did miss two games with an ankle injury, which needs to be taken into account as well.
Addison’s biggest problem is that so much of Minnesota’s passing offense runs through Justin Jefferson. It’s very difficult to argue things should not be that way considering what he is capable of.
The 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Addison impressed as a rookie, catching 70 passes for 911 yards and ten touchdowns.
