Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen had to briefly exit Sunday’s game against the New York Jets after a hit left him bleeding heavily from his nose.
A Jets defender appeared to inadvertently get his hand inside Allen’s facemask late in the first quarter at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. Allen was trying to dive forward for extra yardage on a designed run play when he was hit in the face by defensive end Micheal Clemons.
Allen quickly got to his feet and sprinted to the sideline, which was an obvious indication that something was wrong.

Allen returned to the field after a few plays with gauze in his left nostril. CBS sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson reported that Allen had been “bleeding profusely” from his nose.

Allen is one of the toughest players in the NFL. He takes a beating almost every week and rarely ever leaves the field, but in this case he was gushing blood.
