Josh Allen had classy message for Patrick Mahomes
Josh Allen had a classy message for his counterpart, Patrick Mahomes, following Buffalo’s 30-21 win over Kansas City on Sunday.
The Bills beat the Chiefs at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y., getting three rushing touchdowns, including a huge 26-yarder from Allen to ice the game. Allen went 27/40 for 262 yards, a touchdown and an interception in the win. He also rushed for 55 yards and the huge TD in the fourth quarter.
After getting the win, Allen was interviewed by CBS’ Tracy Wolfson and was asked what he said to Mahomes in their postgame handshake.
“Just a lot of respect. He’s a hell of a player. One of the greatest of all time. Fortunate to share a football field with him,” Allen said of Mahomes.
"Just trying to make a play and help our team win a football game."

Allen has a tremendous amount of respect for Mahomes, and the respect is mutual. Mahomes indicated to Allen after the game that he expected their teams to meet again in the postseason.
While this wasn’t Mahomes’ best game — he went 23/33 for 196 yards with 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions — there is no doubt that the Chiefs quarterback is one of the best of all time. Winning three Super Bowls in six seasons as a starter certainly confirms that, and that is not lost on Allen.
