Josh Brown disagrees with NFL’s decision to suspend him
The NFL recently decided to suspend Giants placekicker Josh Brown for the first game of the 2016 season due to a personal conduct policy violation stemming from a May 2015 domestic violence arrest. Brown, who did not face criminal charges for the incident, is less than thrilled with the decision.
“I’m not going to go into detail about anything,” Brown said to reporters on Thursday, per Michael David Smith of ProFootballTalk. “My major concern is my three kids and the things that are put out there and the things that are being said. This moment happened over a year ago. The case was dropped five days after the moment happened.
“We’ve moved on with our lives at this point,” Brown continued. “While I’m not OK with the decision, I have to respect it. So I look forward to a 15-game season and moving forward with my teammates.”
The 37-year-old Brown, who will sit out the team’s Week One matchup against the Cowboys, appears to be more concerned with the principle of the matter rather than the actual time he’s set to miss. But with a precedent in place for the league choosing to suspend players regardless of whether or not they are charged with a crime, there’s not much for Brown to do but to accept it.
