Jovan Belcher reportedly was out partying with a different woman the night before he murdered his girlfriend and then killed himself, SI reports.
Thayer Evans of Sports Illustrated says a woman told police she was out with Belcher in the Power and Light District of Kansas City on Friday night. According to Evans’ report, Belcher went into the apartment complex where the woman lives at some point after the two became separated that night. Two of the woman’s neighbors reportedly let the intoxicated linebacker sleep in their apartment that night. He reportedly asked them to wake him at 6:30 a.m. so he could make it to the team facility in time for a meeting. After he was awakened, he went to Kasandra Perkins’ home where the two got into a fight, which ended with Perkins’ death.
A previous report from Deadspin stated that Belcher was drinking nightly and that he and the victim had been separated for two weeks prior to the shooting.
