Video: June Jones hilariously crushes referee during XFL telecast

The live mics of the XFL gave us another quality moment on Saturday.

Viewers watching the game were treated to Houston Roughnecks coach June Jones ripping into one of the referees for not calling pass interference, concluding by deriding the official as a “frigging sorry a–.”

Is this abnormal for a football game? Almost certainly not. But if there’s one advantage of the XFL, it’s that the players and coaches being mic’d up live allows us to hear this stuff when we never would in an NFL game. That has some drawbacks sometimes, but this was one instance where having Jones mic’d up paid off brilliantly. We can only hope the XFL produces some more moments like this.
