Korean kicker Younghoe Koo wins Chargers’ kicking job

Younghoe Koo

The Los Angeles Chargers will have a new kicker in the upcoming season.

The Chargers released Josh Lambo and will go with Younghoe Koo, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Koo, 23, went undrafted out of Georgia Southern. He will be replacing Lambo, who converted exactly 26 of 32 kicks (81.3 percent) and missed four extra points each of the past two seasons.

Koo only moved to the United States before sixth grade. He was 26 of 29 on field goals during his college career.

He gained some attention for this cool trick shot video:

Koo has said in an interview that when he arrived to the US, he didn’t even know what football was.
