Miami Dolphins running back Lamar Miller turned what should have been a sure touchdown into a lost fumble during the second quarter of Thursday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Miller took a handoff on 2nd-and-5 and went to the sidelines, then made a nice cutback and looked like he had a clear path to paydirt. He had a few blockers ahead of him pushing Pacman Jones, but instead of continuing to his left away from Jones, he cut right where Carlos Dunlap was. Dunlap stripped him with a forceful swat on an outstanding hustle play.

The ball was swatted out of Miller’s hands so far it went scooting all the way to the end zone where Jones picked it up and returned it to the 41. The Bengals went 3-and-out on their possession, giving the ball back to the Dolphins, who scored when they got the ball back. Daniel Thomas carried the ball most of the drive.
