Larry Donnell’s fantasy football team would have won if he played himself over Vernon Davis

Larry-DonnellNew York Giants tight end Larry Donnell was one of the NFL’s biggest surprises during Week 4. How surprising are we talking? Donnell’s three-touchdown performance against the Washington Redskins was shocking to himself, and his fantasy football team is proof of that.

On Wednesday, Donnell admitted that he played San Francisco 49ers tight end Vernon Davis over himself in his fantasy lineup. His opponent ended up beating him by 15 points.

Larry Donnell benched himself in fantasy football last week in favor of Vernon Davis. His team lost by 15 pts. "Would've won if I played me"

Unless you had a tight end on a bye week or literally no other options to choose from, you probably didn’t play Donnell last week. Of course, the dude I was playing plugged him in for the Thursday night game and he dropped 23 points right in my grill piece. That performance contributed to a week in which I lost despite putting up the second most points in the league.

So I feel your pain, Larry. Well, I guess it probably stings a little more to bench yourself and then exceed your own expectations, but at least the Giants won. To you, that’s probably more important. To many of us, fantasy is life.
