Le’Veon Bell does not report to Steelers at start of bye week

It has been reported that Pittsburgh Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell could finally report to work at some point this week so he can play in Week 8 when the team comes out of its bye, but there has still be no sign of him at Heinz Field.

The Steelers have no game to prepare for this week, but they held team meetings on Monday. One player told Aditi Kinkhabwala of NFL Network that Bell did not show up for those.

#Steelers starting to get into HQ this morning after yesterday’s big win. One player just messaged me: No sign of RB Le’Veon Bell.

Players meet today, practice Tuesday and Wednesday and are then off until next Monday. The watch continues…

Bell only has to sign his franchise tender and report to work by Week 10 to avoid having his contract toll, so technically he does not need to return during the bye week. However, he could collect his game check for Week 7 without actually playing in a game if he shows up this week.

The Steelers seem to have no idea when they will see Bell again, as the Pro Bowler has reportedly not been in contact with any of his teammates or coaches.
