Le’Veon Bell takes another shot at Steelers while praising Rams

LeVeon Bell

Le’Veon Bell is less than two months away from likely parting ways with the Pittsburgh Steelers for good, but the star running back still seems like he is bitter over the way things unfolded for him this past season.

On Monday, Bleacher Report called attention to how spending big worked out for the Los Angeles Rams this year, as they are heading to the Super Bowl just months after they signed several players to massive contracts. Bell was among those who commented on the Instagram post, and he included a not-so-subtle shot at the Steelers.

The Steelers would probably point to the success James Conner enjoyed this season as a means of defending their decision to not pay Bell, and that’s a fairly strong argument. Bell was a crucial part of the team’s offense, but they still put up big numbers without him. Some teams value spending their money elsewhere rather than paying a running back $15 million a year.

Of course, none of this is new for Bell. He already had a very candid reaction over the summer when Todd Gurley signed his four-year extension with the Rams, so you know there is plenty of jealousy there. It will be interesting to see if Bell gets the massive contract he is seeking now that he took a full year off from playing.
