Manti Te’o last played in the NFL in 2020, but it seems like football fans may be able to see him back on their TVs soon.

The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand published a column on Wednesday regarding the future of NFL Network show “Good Morning Football.” The morning talk show has been off the air since March as they prepare for a move from New York to Los Angeles. Jason McCourty, who was one of the co-hosts of the show, will not be moving to Los Angeles to continue appearing on the program. NFL Media is now tasked with filling McCourty’s spot.

According to Marchand, NFL Network is considering former players Te’o and Akbar Gbajabiamila as potential replacements. Marchand says Te’o impressed during a recent boot camp put on by NFL Media.

Te’o is a high-profile name and very familiar to football fans. Not only was he a massive recruit coming out of high school, but he later became a Heisman Trophy candidate at Notre Dame and eventual first-round pick in the NFL. Additionally, Te’o received widespread attention for his girlfriend hoax story that made national news in 2013. Teo’s story received renewed attention iin 2022 after Netflix released a documentary about the matter. That documentary helped put Te’o back in the spotlight, and conveyed him in a favorable light.
