Mark Davis says father Al would have loved Henry Ruggs pick
The Las Vegas Raiders nabbed arguably the best wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft when they selected former Alabama star Henry Ruggs with the 12th overall pick, and Mark Davis is confident the team would have made the same pick if his father were still around to oversee things.
Davis, the son of late Raiders owner Al Davis, told general manager Mike Mayock that his father would have loved the Ruggs pick.
Mike Mayock said he spoke to Mark Davis, who said Al was looking down on with a smile after the Silver and Black took the fastest WR in the draft.

Ruggs is an explosive playmaker who should make a huge impact in the vertical passing game for the Raiders. Al Davis was drawn to those types of players, as evidenced by his decisions to bring players like Jerry Rice and Randy Moss to Oakland several years ago. Ruggs is one of the fastest players in the country, and he averaged a whopping 17.9 yards per reception at Alabama. He also scored 24 touchdowns in three seasons, six of which came on just 12 receptions his freshman year.
Ruggs was one of the most impressive players at the NFL Scouting Combine, though he was somehow disappointed with his 40-yard dash time. Jon Gruden has to be excited about the opportunity to incorporate him into his offense, and Al Davis would have shared in that excitement if he were still around.
