Marvin Harrison Jr. appears to be busier blocking out the noise than catching footballs these days.
The Arizona Cardinals wide receiver is facing heavy criticism for his underwhelming start to the 2026 NFL season. The Cardinals have already played two games, but all the former Ohio State Buckeyes star wideout can show for it so far is 33 receiving yards on a single catch.
Already in his third season in the NFL, Harrison still can’t seem to live up to the hype he brought with him when Arizona drafted him fourth overall in 2024.
But with his anemic production downfield through two weeks of football in 2026, criticism is mounting again on Harrison.
He’s not affected by the noise and negative reactions, though.
“No,” Harrison said, via Josh Weinfuss of ESPN. “I mean, I understand who I am and what I was expected to do when I got drafted here and all the expectations that were put on me and I think people want certain production. So, when that’s not happening, everybody’s going to ask questions or figure out why is that the reason?
“And, so, I wouldn’t say I’m surprised by anything that’s talked about me anyway.”
There is clearly one sure way for Harrison to silence the critics, and that’s by producing big numbers.
Life on the field is unlikely to get much easier for Harrison in Week 3, with the Cardinals scheduled to play the undefeated San Francisco 49ers on Sunday in enemy territory at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
