Mazda is refurbishing ‘Bentley,’ Alfred Morris’ 1991 sedan
Washington Redskins running back Alfred Morris has no intention of moving on from his 1991 Mazda sedan, which he proudly calls “Bentley.” Thanks to Mazda’s desire to capitalize on the free publicity Morris has given them, he won’t have to for a while.
Morris’ car is currently at a Mazda dealership being refurbished and restored to factory-floor condition. Bentley will be in the shop for six to eight weeks, and her modesty will remain intact when she reemerges.
“It’s not ‘Pimp My Ride’ or anything,” Morris said, via Eye on Football. “No big rims or fish tanks in the bank.”
According to Morris, the car’s cracked dashboard is being repaired and work is being done on the engine and transmission. Alfred certainly adores his car, but we know that there have been times in the past when her old age almost let him down. Basically, the essentials will be fine-tuned with a possible bonus or two.
“Like a navigation system or something maybe,” Morris said.
Based on what we know about Morris, the car suits him perfectly. He’s one of the most modest players in football and seems to have his head on perfectly straight, which probably stems from the fact that he was so undervalued before the NFL Draft. At this point, Morris without Bentley would be like Batman without Robin. It just wouldn’t be right.
