Michael Bennett talks great trash to star quarterbacks
Michael Bennett is one of the more outspoken, funnier players in the NFL, so it’s no surprise to hear that he also talks some great trash to opposing quarterbacks.
In a feature with Seattle Met, the Seahawks defensive lineman spoke unfiltered and shared his opinions on a range of subjects. One of the best things to come from the feature was him sharing some of his great trash talk to opposing QBs.
“Yeah, I’ll talk to quarterbacks,” The Seattle Met quotes Bennett as saying. “With Drew Brees, I’m like, ‘Oh, you’re too short.’ Or Peyton Manning; I hit him and I was like, ‘Hey, Peyton! I hate your commercials!’ Aaron Rodgers, same thing. He portrays himself like he’s a normal guy, but he’s supercocky.”
Bennett isn’t alone in his opinion of Rodgers. Last year another defensive player complained about the Packers quarterback’s behavior on the field. But we have to disagree with Bennett about Manning’s commercials; we’re big fans.
Naturally you have to wonder whether Bennett is concerned about his trash talk backfiring.
“Nah, I’m not worried about giving other teams billboard material. I think if a team gonna whoop your a–, they gonna whoop your a–. If you gonna whoop their a–, you gonna whoop their a–. I think you either motivated or you not motivated.”
Well, that’s one way to look at things. But his Seattle teammates probably prefer it when his trash talk is about opponents, not his own team.
