Mike Evans heads to locker room with hamstring injury

Buccaneers star Mike Evans grabbing at his hamstring

Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans went down with an injury Sunday during his team’s Week 7 clash against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Buccaneers led the Ravens 10-7 midway through the second quarter at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Fla. Facing 2nd-and-6 at the Ravens’ 24, Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield lofted a pass to Evans in the end zone that appeared right on target.

Evans looked like he was about to score his second touchdown of the game. However, cornerback Brandon Stephens tackled Evans from behind and made the veteran wideout lose control of the ball. The ensuing contact injured both Evans and Stephens.

Evans was writhing in pain on the ground after appearing to aggravate a right hamstring injury. He had already been walking with a noticeable limp on the sidelines after scoring a touchdown on an earlier drive. Evans was able to walk off back to the locker room on his own power. But the Buccaneers immediately ruled him out for the rest of the game.

Evans finished his night with one catch for 25 yards and a touchdown.
