Could Steelers consider trading Mike Tomlin?
Rumors continue to persist suggesting that the Pittsburgh Steelers and coach Mike Tomlin may be headed for a parting of ways.
Some around the NFL believe that the Steelers could consider trading Tomlin to another organization as he enters the final season of his contract, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic. The Washington Commanders, Chicago Bears, and Carolina Panthers are among the teams that could be willing to give up draft picks to trade for the longtime Steelers coach.
Russini cautions, however, that the most likely outcome is still considered to be Tomlin returning to Pittsburgh for another season.
Tomlin has faced increasing scrutiny over the past few weeks as the Steelers’ season has fell apart, thanks largely due to an inept offense. More worryingly, some players do not seem to be buying into Tomlin’s typical competitive and hard-nosed style.
Tomlin has been the Steelers’ head coach since 2007. Over that period, he is 170-100-2 with a Super Bowl title.
