The NFL coaching carousel continues to spin, and this time the Philadelphia Eagles have hired a new coach.
After an extensive offensive coordinator search, the Eagles have hired Sean Mannion as the new OC. Mannion was recently the Green Bay Packers quarterbacks coach.

Mannion is just 33 years old, but he is a bright young mind who was a third-round draft pick by the St. Louis Rams in 2015.
Mannin’s 9-year playing career wrapped up in 2023, and he joined the Packers as an offensive assistant in 2024.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said he is “thrilled” to bring Mannion on board as he released a statement after the hire became official.
“It was quickly apparent in meeting with Sean that he is a bright young coach with a tremendous future ahead of him in this league. I was impressed by his systematic views on offensive football and his strategic approach,” Sirianni said, via the team website.
In a vacuum, Mannion becoming the OC is a big risk for the Eagles, especially since he has two years of coaching experience.
On the other hand, it is a new, young approach for the Eagles. Following the playoff loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Sirianni decided to move on from OC Kevin Patullo in what he called a “difficult” decision.
Now, the Eagles bring in Mannion, although this means yet another play-caller for quarterback Jalen Hurts.
