Mike Zimmer’s daughter passionately defends Vikings coach against critics
The Minnesota Vikings have lost three of their last four games and look like they are going to fall short of expectations this season, but Mike Zimmer’s daughter is tired of people blaming the head coach.
With the Vikings scoring just 17 points over the past two weeks and dropping important games to the New England Patriots and Seattle Seahawks, Zimmer has been criticized for not getting enough out of what looks like a loaded roster. On Tuesday, his daughter Corri took to Instagram to defend her father for how much time and effort he puts into his job.
Corri said Mike has lost 16 pounds this season due to stress, noting how he often goes straight to the office after losses and sleeps there rather than going home.
“This man is one of the greatest COACHES, FATHER, HUSBAND, FRIEND, and PERSON in the world,” she wrote. “He is the right leader for this team and he will get it turned around. He NEVER points blame or blames others for a loss.”
The Vikings fired their offensive coordinator on Tuesday, which is not a surprise given the way they have performed on that side of the ball after signing Kirk Cousins to a massive contract during the offseason. You can understand why Zimmer’s daughter is fed up with listening to internet trolls after the health issues the coach has dealt with during his time in Minnesota, but that is unfortunately a big part of being a head coach in the NFL in 2018.
