Mike Zimmer upset with Rams for ‘cheap shot’ on Teddy Bridgewater
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is furious with the St. Louis Rams for a late hit on Teddy Bridgewater that knocked the quarterback out of Sunday’s game at US Bank Stadium.
Bridgewater was hit in the head and left with a concussion after being nailed by LaMarcus Joyner while sliding after a scramble. Defensive players are supposed to let quarterbacks go untouched when they give themselves up on a slide, which is why the Vikings are so upset.
After the Vikings pulled off the 21-18 win in overtime, Zimmer barely gave Rams coach Jeff Fisher a handshake:

Zimmer was steamed and made it clear after the game he was upset with the hit.
“I’m pretty sure if we were out in the street it probably would’ve been a fight,” Zimmer said.
He called the play a “cheap shot.”
“I agree that it was a cheap shot. [Gregg Williams’] defenses are all like that,” Zimmer said via KFAN, referencing Rams defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who was part of the Bountygate scandal.
Zimmer also said he might contact the league over some of the questionable plays.
Asked if he'll contact league office, Zimmer said "I might make a phone call" regarding what he deemed dirty hits.
