Mike Zimmer won’t tell Vikings who is starting QB because of leaks
Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer may not formally announce to his team who the starting quarterback will be in Week 2 because of a fear of the news leaking.
News leaked last week that Shaun Hill would start the team’s game against the Tennessee Titans in Week 1, which didn’t sit well with Zimmer. NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport says the consequence is that Zimmer is planning to keep things to himself for Week 2.
Zimmer himself said on Monday he would not announce a starter until game day on Sunday. Rapoport says the leaks are the reason.
The expectation is that the newly-acquired Sam Bradford will get the start despite only being in the Vikings’ system for a few weeks.
