Mitch Trubisky is so done with his old ‘Favre’ nickname
Mitch Trubisky is so done with his old nickname.
Trubisky is in his second year with the Chicago Bears, and the team can clinch the division with a win over the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. Trubisky has passed for 21 touchdowns, rushed for three more, and is establishing himself in the league. That’s why he’s well beyond his old high school nickname of “Favre.”
Entering Sunday’s game against the Packers, Trubisky was asked about his old nickname, which is a nod to the legendary former Green Bay quarterback.
Asked about what he admires about Aaron Rodgers, Mitchell Trubisky said he’s just focused on his own job.
Asked about the “Favre” nickname he had in high school, he said: "I’m done with that nickname. No one calls me that anymore … I’m a Chicago Bears quarterback now.” #Rivalry

Bears fans will love that. Trubisky has firmly embraced his position in the league now and understands the rivalry, which means distancing himself from all things Packers.
