Former Indianapolis Colts running back Nyheim Hines is hoping to make an impact in the NFL again this season.
Hines told ESPN’s Adam Schefter on Monday that he wants to sign with a team for training camp. The former fourth-round pick was with the Cleveland Browns last season but has not appeared in a regular-season game since 2022.
Hines said he feels his knee is finally back to full strength after he suffered serious injuries in a jet ski accident two years ago.

The Colts drafted Hines in the fourth round in 2018. He was a productive player in Indianapolis for four seasons before being traded to the Buffalo Bills in 2022. Hines’ best season came in 2020, when the former NC State star had 862 yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns.
Many people were excited about Hines playing in a Buffalo offense led by Josh Allen, but Hines missed the entire 2023 season after he suffered a serious knee injury in a jet ski collision.
Hines will turn 29 this season. The odds do not favor him playing a meaningful role for a team this season due to his age and injury history, but it is possible a team will be willing to give him a look in training camp.
