Report reveals Nick Sirianni’s job status with Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles’ ugly end to the season sparked speculation about coach Nick Sirianni’s job security, but the team seems to be leaning one particular way on that question.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported at halftime of Saturday’s AFC Divisional game that all signs point to Sirianni returning for another season as the Eagles’ head coach.
Here was Schefter’s report.. “Changes expected on the DEFENSIVE side of the ball.”
No mention of Offense.

Changes are likely to occur on Philly’s coaching staff, however, particularly on the defensive side of the ball.
The Eagles’ behind-the-scenes moves after their season-ending loss last Monday certainly suggested that this was the likely outcome. Sirianni is only a year removed from guiding the Eagles to a Super Bowl appearance, and had the team 10-1 to start this season. Clearly, something went very wrong after that, but Sirianni never seemed to lose the backing of his players.
Changes to the defensive staff appeared inevitable even before this report came out. Sean Desai remains the team’s defensive coordinator, but play-calling duties were abruptly handed to Matt Patricia during the season in a move that seems to have hurt the team more than it helped them.
It would be very difficult for the Eagles to bring either assistant back in 2024 based on how that went down the stretch.
