Odell Beckham jokingly responds to talk that he is a ‘cancer’

Odell Beckham Jr. is arguably the most talented wide receiver in football, but his critics will tell you the issues he creates off the field and in the locker room make his production not worthwhile. Beckham seems to think those claims are laughable.

There have been reports that the New York Giants decided to trade Beckham to the Cleveland Browns because he became a headache, or a locker room “cancer” as some have put it. On Thursday, Beckham shared his thoughts on that with a subtle tweet.

The Giants chose to sign Beckham to a massive contract extension prior to last season, so there’s some thought that he made them regret it with his antics in 2018. If you remember, OBJ was openly critical of Eli Manning and New York’s coaching staff following the team’s bad start, and ownership basically told him to shut up and play.

For what it’s worth, Beckham has never been in any real trouble with the law or faced any serious disciplinary action from the NFL. The Browns obviously feel that his talent outweighs any of the character concerns that might surround him.
