Odell Beckham seemingly critical of Eli Manning, Giants in interview
Odell Beckham Jr. has every right to be frustrated with the way the 2018 season has started for the New York Giants, but some of the things he said in an interview that aired Sunday are undoubtedly going to irritate a team that just gave him a massive contract extension.
In a sit-down interview with ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Beckham was asked about some of the issues the Giants have dealt with dating back to last season. When asked if the team has “an issue at quarterback,” Beckham stopped short of supporting Eli Manning. He also would not say he is happy in New York.
Wow, what Odell Beckham said to @JosinaAnderson … unbelievable.
Is there an issue at QB? “Uh, I don’t know.”
Are you unhappy in NY? “That’s a tough question.”
I appreciate the honesty. But wow. Lots of bullets flying coming out of that one.

Beckham then seemed to question the play-calling of first-year head coach Pat Shurmur.
Odell Beckham also didn't sound pleased with Pat Shurmur's play-calling. In regards to why he's not having more of an impact this year, Beckham said "I feel like I’m being out-schemed."

What's holding Odell Beckham back? "I just having been in the situation. I haven’t been in the place where I feel like I can really go out and do what I’m capable of cdoing. I don’t get 20 targets like some other receivers." https://t.co/SYzRAEts0j

Odell Beckham's overall theme: He's awesome and the Giants are holding him back: "I don’t think I’m given an opportunity to be the very best I can be. I don’t want to be held back anymore."

The Giants were 3-13 last season and entered Week 5 with a record of 1-3, so Beckham could have just been trying to light a fire under his teammates. But when the star wide receiver signed a five-year, $95 million contract extension, New York’s brass was showing they expect him to be an impact player on the field, in the locker room and in the community.
Shurmur already openly disagreed with some remarks Beckham made earlier in the week, and you can bet he won’t be pleased with the latest.
