Odell Beckham Jr. wants media to keep trashing Baker Mayfield

Baker Mayfield is at his best when he’s being fueled by haters. Accordingly, Odell Beckham Jr. wants the media to keep feeding the beast.

Beckham told reporters on Friday that he hopes the media will continue to make Mayfield mad.

“I would just encourage everyone who talks about Baker in the media to keep antagonizing him. Keep making him mad because that’s what you’re going to get,” Beckham said, via the Akron Beacon Journal’s Nate Ulrich. “This is somebody who’s been fueled off of that all his life, and the more you poke fun at him, the more he’s going to poke back. So I just love to see him in his element and just being him.”

Mayfield has had a running feud with Colin Cowherd that’s inspired him. The latest battle came with Rex Ryan last week after the former Jets head coach called Mayfield “overrated as hell.” In response, Mayfield threw for 342 yards and a touchdown in the Cleveland Browns’ big divisional win at Baltimore. Mayfield said he wasn’t going to give Ryan credit for the win, but based on what Beckham said, maybe the quarterback should.
