Football, Green Bay Packers, Rasheed Walker

Packers player is already talking about an undefeated season

At least one Green Bay Packers player appears to be embracing some huge goals, even though the team is off to a 2-0 start.

Packers left tackle Rasheed Walker suggested Wednesday that he could envision the team going undefeated after their impressive start to the season. In Walker’s mind, he simply does not see any other team in the league with the firepower to slow Green Bay down.

“I think we can go undefeated, honestly. I feel like we could’ve been undefeated the last two seasons,” Walker said. “Pound-for-pound, I look at these teams and I don’t really see who is better than us.”

The Packers are 2-0 with convincing wins over the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders, both of whom made the playoffs in 2024. They do still have to face the Philadelphia Eagles and Baltimore Ravens this season, along with a trip to Detroit.

The team is certainly feeling confident after the addition of Micah Parsons, and justifiably so. There is a good case to be made that they have looked like the best team in the NFL through two weeks. Their fans are feeling that confidence as well.

However, going undefeated in the NFL is very difficult. There is a reason it has not been done since the 1972 Miami Dolphins. The 2007 New England Patriots did it in a 16-game regular season, but wound up losing in the Super Bowl.

A 7th-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, Walker has worked his way into becoming the Packers’ starting left tackle. He started 17 regular season games for Green Bay last season, too.
