Packers to release Christine Michael
Christine Michael may be looking for a new home.
The Green Bay Packers are planning to release running back Christine Michael, according to a report from ESPN’s Field Yates and Adam Schefter.
Michael, a 2013 2nd-round pick by the Seahawks in 2013, signed with the Packers as a free agent last month. He did not receive much interest on the market and ended up returning to Green Bay.
Michael spent the majority of last season with the Seahawks but was picked up by the Packers upon being released. He rushed for just 114 yards on 31 carries for Green Bay.
The Packers clearly were looking for help at the running back position and made that a priority in the draft. They selected three running backs in the later rounds, including BYU’s Jamaal Williams, UTEP’s Aaron Jones, and Utah State’s Devante Mays.
