Patrick Mahomes briefly leaves game with ankle injury
The Kansas City Chiefs, already facing one key injury, suffered a huge scare on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes briefly left Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars about midway through the second quarter after he appeared to roll his left ankle during a play.
Patrick Mahomes is in the blue tent. He limped off the field and had to get some help once he was off the field. Looked like his left ankle. Moore is warming up.

Mahomes in the medical tent now. Looked like he planted his left foot, got his leg bent back when a Jags defender (believe it was Ngakoue) pulled him down.

Luckily for the Chiefs, Mahomes’ time on the sidelines was brief. He didn’t even miss a play as referees sorted out penalties on a scuffle that ensued following the play that injured the quarterback, though he was still favoring his ankle upon returning.
Patrick Mahomes has returned – with a bit of a limp. https://t.co/HpE7bBQJCN

Mahomes is fresh off a 2018 season that saw him surpass 50 touchdowns and 5,000 yards. He’s the player Kansas City can ill afford to lose, especially after one of his key weapons was sidelined in the same game.
