Patrick Mahomes leaves with right knee injury after QB sneak
Patrick Mahomes may have converted a 4th-and-1 early in the second quarter of the Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the Denver Broncos on Thursday night, but it came at a cost.
After picking up the first down, Mahomes was down laying on a teammate. He was pointing at his right leg and trainers were later shown trying to treat his knee.
A cart came out for the Kansas City quarterback, but Mahomes waved it off and walked off the field with the assistance of some staff members. He then headed into the locker room as he was replaced by Matt Moore.
FOX commentator Troy Aikman said it was like the staff almost popped Mahomes’ knee back into place. The reigning NFL MVP was later shown heading into the X-ray room.

Mahomes began the game 10/11 for 76 yards and a touchdown.
Mahomes was only in the X-ray room for a few minutes before trainers ruled him out for the rest of the game, according to FOX reporter Erin Andrews.
